Ramadan

Ramadan is like faith.

You experience it, you believe in it,

and if successful in it,

it will lead you to Allah.

The fast is a cleansing of the soul,

much like prayer and dua’,

and submission to Allah.

Fasting is like water.

When you drink from it,

you will get your fill

and be replenished.

Not fasting is like seeing the doors of Jannah,

but refusing to walk through.

I found a GREAT Video on Youtube that gives the comments of our great scholar Imam Muhammad ibn Saalih Al-'Uthaymeen. We should be mindful of trying to adhere to the Quran and Sunnah as closely as possible, but we should not be overbearing in our own lives or on other people. It goes against the Sunnah to question other Muslims about whether or not their meat is "ok" to eat. There are ahadith that corroborate this thinking and opinions of scholars that do as well. We must also take into account the fact that there are hadith that concern harming other Muslims with your words.

The very first that I wish to grace you with is a hadith regarding avoiding suspicious things. As I stated before, be mindful, not overbearing. Do some research. Put some thought into the statements you make and the thoughts that you have come to internalize.

Sahih Bukhari -

Narrated An-Nu'man bin Bashir:
I heard Allah's Apostle saying, 'Both legal and illegal things are evident but in between them there are doubtful (suspicious) things and most of the people have no knowledge about them. So whoever saves himself from these suspicious things saves his religion and his honor. And whoever indulges in these suspicious things is like a shepherd who grazes (his animals) near the Hima (private pasture) of someone else and at any moment he is liable to get in it. (O people!) Beware! Every king has a Hima and the Hima of Allah on the earth is His illegal (forbidden) things. Beware! There is a piece of flesh in the body if it becomes good (reformed) the whole body becomes good but if it gets spoilt the whole body gets spoilt and that is the heart.

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, "Beware of suspicion (about others), as suspicion is the falsest talk, and do not spy upon each other, and do not listen to the evil talk of the people about others' affairs, and do not have enmity with one another, but be brothers.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr:

The Prophet said, "A Muslim is the one who avoids harming Muslims with his tongue and hands. And a Muhajir (emigrant) is the one who gives up (abandons) all what Allah has forbidden."

Narrated Abu Musa:

Some people asked Allah's Apostle, "Whose Islam is the best? i.e. (Who is a very good Muslim)?" He replied, "One who avoids harming the Muslims with his tongue and hands."
